  • Significance: It was completed in 1874, and is one of 7 lighthouses built along the Hudson River by the Coast Guard to aid navigation. This Second-Empire building is now in the National Register. Lightkeepers lived in the 2-story dwelling from its completion until 1949. Since that time the light has been run on a timer and the building left unattended. Alterations to the lighthouse are few. Changes were mostly mechanical...
