But by ten inthe morning of this Saturday, June 2nd, all was readyand stowed. With that we weighed anchor and stoodout of the harbour, dropping our pilot off the Head. The wind was light, and this was well; for it was allagainst us, blowing from the east. None the less thelog at sunset showed nearly an average of nine knotsand a half. Bommel Mountain—or so we made it out—came intoview at a quarter past two that afternoon ; and two hourslater, about ten miles off the Selb lighthouse, we took apilot on board.
