Le traité franco-siamois de 1904 lui a rendu les provinces deBassac, Melouprey, Tonlé-Képou, Krat, Kokang, usurpées par lesSiamois. Ce traité, comme celui de 1893, a neutralisé les provincesde Battambang et dAngkor. Divisions administratives. —Le Cambodge est aujourdhui par-tagé en 14 provinces, sous le contrôle dun Résident supérieur. Situation et population. — Sa superficie est de 140.000 kilomètrescarrés. Sa population est denviron 1.600.000 habitants, dont 550 Eu-ropéens, 125 Chinois, 76.000 Annamites, 42.000 Kiams et 200 Hin-dous.
