Samuel May, Jr., is sending a "Bee," containing the Wisconsin correspondence with William S. Bailey. Samuel May writes: "Mr. B[ailey] has never had the names of any ladies there. The $200 came thro' Rev. Hiram Foote." Mr. Bailey is at work on a Liberty Bell article. He knows nothing about the recent slave insurrections in Tennessee and Kentucky. [A letter from W. S. Bailey to Mrs. Maria W. Chapman was printed in the Liberty Bell for 1858, p. 278-286.] An article by Harriet Martineau is to appear in three succesive issues of the Liberator, and then "in a neat pamphlet." Samuel May agrees with Maria Weston Chapman's idea of not using "Mrs. Martineau's name, on the pamphlet, is I think perfectly correct." Samuel May has mailed a paper from Mrs. [Abigail Hopper?] Gibbons to Maria W. Chapman. Samuel May replies to the Maria W. Chapman's inquiry about her pledges
