In this letter, William Lloyd Garrison congratulates Robert Purvis on the birth of a son. He explains the necessity of sending appeals for aid to the Liberator. Already the continuance of the Liberator is assured. The purchase of a large number of copies of "Thoughts [on African Colonization]" made by friends in Philadelphia was helpful. He expects the end of the "Colonization mania." Garrison meditates on his twenty-eighth birthday
In addition to the original manuscript by Garrison, there is a handwritten copy of this letter. The copy is not William Lloyd Garrison's handwriting
Also includes a fragment that says: "A gift from H. L. Moody, Malden Mass. Anti-Slavery letters."
