pied two tables, twentyfeet long. The visitors and resident mission families(of whom not the least attractive portion was twelvehappy children) had their places at a middle one. Af-ter the guests had all been seated, the ringing of a littletable-bell brought in all the girls, neatly dressed andorderly, to their seats. Then they sang a verse of ahymn, followed by a blessing. Supper ensued withgreat cheerfulness, concluded with giving of thanks andanother verse of an Hawaiian hymn. Afterwards, out on the grassy play-giound, we hadblind-mans-buff, and ball, and hide-and-go-seek, withthe pretty circle of boys and girls, till we were muchmore tired, but not less pleased, than they. We shouldlike to keep a childs heart, and spirits, and relish forinnocent sports as long as we live. And when the hu-mor suits we will indulge in them, and try to. makeourselves and children happy, for all the world. Quoddelectat juventutem jucundum est viro—That whichdelights the youth is pleasing to the man.
