After making many inquiries I succeeded in find-ing this woman in the village of Anjok, and inducedher to pay me a visit in my tent. She certainly dis-played none of the shyness of her race. A fewquestions satisfied me that she knew not a word ofthe pygmy language, and the same thing applied toother representatives of tliis tribe whom I met a fewdays later in Kribi.
