Description
English: Map of the Island of Nantucket

Single sheet. Engraving. Scale: circa1:115,000; bar scale in miles. Ungraduated. Text entirely in English. The map was published in the English edition of 'Letters from an American Farmer', by J. Hector St John de Crevecoeur (the author's name was anglicised by omitting 'de Crevecoeur' in the English edition). It was printed on page 112, to accompany Letter IV, 'Description of the Island of Nantucket, with the manners, customs, trade, and policy of the inhabitants'.
