In judgment on the designs, the Board of Commissionerswill be advised by a competent committee of one or morearchitects of reputation, who are not competitors. Edmund M. Wheelright of Boston and Henry IvesCobb of Chicago. Their choice of the design by CassGilbert of St. Paul was adopted by ithe board as the de-sign for the Capitol, which was then estimated to cost$1,500,000 but ultimately cost about $4,000,000.
