Wheat, rye, oats, barley, beans, peas, hemp, flax,tobacco, coffee, corn, Irish potatoes and sugar-cane. Vege-tables of all kinds can be raised in the greatest abundance,frequently two or three crops a year. Wormwood andwild mustard abound as weeds. Oats grow wild, and thecultivated grow to an enormous height. Wheat crops,sown in the fall, early the following year have yielded onehundred and fourteen busJiels to the acre. At the Missionof St. Joseph it was ascertained that the yield was one hun-dred and twenty bushels to the acre, and the spontaneous cropthe folloiving year loas sixty bushels to the acre.
