ents. A students prayer meeting is held once a week,at which attendance is optional. The University is not sec-tarian, and no effort is made to inculcate the doctrines ofany particular creed or denomination; but the utmost careis taken to promote sound and healthy religious sentiments.We feel sure that nowhere do these matters receive morecareful attention. The founder of the Ohio University believed that re-ligion, morality and knowledge are necessary to good govern-ment and the happiness of mankind; and it has been thesteady purpose of those to whom has been entrusted the dutyof carrying out his plans to insist on the intimate relation ex-isting between the three. The good man, the good citizenis not he who is best informed, but he who is constantly in-spired with the thought that his knowledge should be usedfor the good of his fellow-men.
