There has been in this Province a drifting away from the real work of theAgricultural Societies. In their zeal to increase gate receipts some societieshave devoted too much attention to special attractions, and have overlookedthe educational features for which societies were organized, I know of oneAgricultural Society in this Province that spent ;1,600 in special attractions. 16 THE REPORT OF No. 43 How many farmer boys and girls wlio saw those contortionists and highkickers received any material benefit ?
