weedehelft der XIVde eeuw, deden echter vele kloosters eene wijkplaats zoekenbinnen de ommuurde Steden en zich aldaar met eene beduidend kleinereruimte tevredenstellen. Hoe later zij zich in de Steden vestigden, hoekleiner en kostbaarder meestal, de aldaar nog verkrijgbare ruimte was; !) Toen de Minderbroeders zich in 1440 te Delft trachtten te vestigen, werdzulks door de Overheid alléén toegestaan onder beding: 1°. Dat ze niet meer als eens ter weeke hun brood langs de straten zullen gaanbedelen. 2°. Dat ze in gehuurde huizinge zullen woonen, zonder zich eenig recht op hunnehuizinge of op de erve daer zij op wonen aan te matigen. 3°. Dat de quaeddoenders ter stad uitgebannen zullen worden. 4°. Dat zij niet meer als 50 Monniken zullen aannemen. 5°. Dat zij vorders de bevelen der majestraat zullen gehoorzamen. 6°. Dat zij, om het bovenstaande te ontwijken, zich met geene voorrechten, ofmet bcvelbricven van een kerkelijk overste, zelfs niet van den Roomschen Pauszullen behelpen.
