The princes engaged in this first crusade were,Hugo, count of Vermandois, brother to Philip I.,king of France ; Robert, duke of Normandy; Robert,earl of Flanders ; Raimond, earl of Toulouse and St.Giles ; the celebrated Godfrey of Bouillon, duke ofLorrain, with his brothers Baldwin and Eustace ;Stephen, earl of Chartres and Blois; Hugo, count ofSt. Paul; with many other lords.
