Title
Photocopy of ca. 1870 photo showing 228 South Ninth Street in center, along with now-demolished identical rowhouses. This view is reproduced in H.M. Pierce Gallagher's Robert Mills, Architect of the Washington Monument 1781-1855, published in 1935 by Columbia University Press. The photo was shot by Philip B. Wallace. Note original window sash, including sidelights, in triple windows. Also note elevated stoops with wrought-iron railings and fanlight of 228 South Ninth Street.
