Text Appearing Before Image:
Williams and were manufactured and installedunder his supervision. They are strong, neat, attractive andsatisfactory. They are as near sanitary as it is possible forstocks to be made. By using this form of stocks almost everypart of the animal is accessible. The unique and originalmethod of applying the girths and back strap is especiallyattractive. These stocks are made almost entirely of tubularsteel of a large and strong size. The steel tubing is joinedtogether by elbows and threaded connections. These tight andstrong joints make the apparatus rigid and substantial. Australian Crush. The Australian Crush, Figure 71, is simply a pen orchute into which wild and vicious horses are driven in orderto catch them. It is made high enough to prevent the animalfrom jumping out, and narrow enough to make it impossiblefor him to turn around. An outfit of this kind is particularlyconvenient where a large number of unbroken range horsesare to be caught and handled. EESTEAINT OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Text Appearing After Image:
CHAPTEE V. Slings. Slings are useful appliances for restraint in the standingposture. The stock is often supplanted by a good strong slingin conjunction with some one of the several methods of re-straining one or more legs. By means of the sling the animalstody is supported. If the head is held properly it is impossiblefor the animal to turn from side to side or to move either back-ward or forward.
