  • Significance: When an outbreak of yellow fever in 1867 drove the Mission of St. Andrew out of Millican, the survivors moved to Bryan, where they organized an Episcopal parish. they built the first St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on a grouping of lots at the intersection of 25th and Park Streets. However, a few decades later, they decided to move their congregation to new facilities and so began work on a church building at the corner of West 26th Street and Parker Avenue. The current St. Andrew's Episcopal Church was completed in 1914 and is still in use nearly a century later...
