Its vast openspaces are covered with gorse, bracken heather and anabundance of silver birch, pine and other stately trees,which largely contribute to the tonic and invigoratingeffect of the climate. A large open heath, some 250 acresin extent surrounds the town and ensures an exception-ally pure air. WATERS—The Springs are chalybeate containing freenitrogen, chloride of sodium and sulphate of magnesium, RECOMMENDED in cases of tuberculosis, cardiacdiseases, obesity and fatty heart, melancholia, neur-asthenia and the various phases of anaemia and debility.
