If you have ever seen a country pedlaroffering his wares to the crofters wives and peasantsdaughters, and been observant, you will under-stand the art of Myron Barlow; and if you havebeen fortunate enough to have gained their con-fidence you will enjoy it. Mr. Barlow designs hiswork : he is not a slave to nature ready-made; hiswork is always decorative, not decorated, andhis colour broad and simple : though bright attimes it is never disturbing by a lack of harmony.I have heard it said that his subjects are a littlesimilar.
