Hake, Thomas Gordon, English poet andphysician: b. Leeds 1809; d. London 11 Jan.1895. He took his medical degree at GlasgowUniversity in 1831, and practised his professionin East Anglia, later becoming the physicianand friend of Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Hispoetry is thoroughly original, but very subtlyphilosophical.
