t race of the three divisions took placein the West Division, where practically all of the teams butThird Church had a chance to win until the closing round, eachteam being but one game ahead of its next nearest competitor.Austin Faith team finally won in the closing game and be-came eligible for the finals, winning second place in theplay-off. On the South Side the Woodlawns had an easy thing of it,losing their only game by forfeiture to the Brookline team, which finished in second place but one game ahead of the FirstChurch, three teams tieing right back of that for third place,Englewood, Bethany and Bethlehem. The North Side didnot play all of their games, Christ Church winning with Edge-water and Belden Avenue trailing along in a tic in secondplace. At the beginning of 1905 it was thought that a league oftwenty-four clubs could be secured and plans were laid accord-ingly. The league, however, refused to allow any teams inwhich were not able to guarantee they would finish the season

Fiveteams were thereby dropped and were taken over by the BibleClass League as a division of that organization, one other teambeing added. Few changes were made in the playing rules, the rule againstSunday playing being made more definite in that it excludes anyplayer from active participation in the games should it be provedthat he has played on any Sunday in the year. A fine is imposedupon any team failing to report the result of its game on thenight it happens, a move that is expected to result in more pub-licity of the leagues doings. Harold S. Bailey, last year assistant chairma
