That the efforts of the many worthy officials, judges, teachers,matrons, philanthropists and others who assisted in the good work boresplendid fruit is shown by the fact that many prominent young businessmen of Chicago (far more than the average citizen would imagine) couldrefer to the efforts made in their behalf and the excellent schooling theyreceived at the John Worthy School as the foundation of their success. Insome instances, of course, it was a case of loves labor lost, but a properlymanaged ooys reformatory is the salvation of many a wayward lad, and theschool amply proved it.
