Binding: early limp vellum, stab sewn. End papers are title leaf and another leaf from: An eglogve gratvlatorie entituled: To the right honorable, and renowmed Shepheard of Albions Arcadia, Robert Earle of Essex and Ewe, for his vvelcome into England from Portugall / done by George Peele (At London : Printed by Richard Jones ..., 1589)
On Z2v is a four-line English inscription in an Elizabethan hand, recording a loan of £22 to Jane Griffeth, made 6 or 7 years since
Probably a compilation by Richard Jones, the publisher, of material borrowed from Sir William Segar, Vincentio Saviolo, and others. Sometimes attributed to Segar, whose name appears on 2N3v

Second leaf is added t.p., without imprint. The title continues: VVherein is discoursed the causes of quarrell, and the nature of iniuries, with their repulses..
On t.p. is woodcut of the arms of England, surmounted by a royal crown and surrounded by the order of St. George (repeated on P3v). Added t.p. has a woodcut border with grotesque decoration and figures of David and Moses. On pi2v is a woodcut of the arms of Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor, to whom the work is dedicated.
