PURE-BRED SHORT-HORN BULLOCK SCHOOLER. Color, roan; calved Dec. 16, 1881; bred by Mr. B. P. Schooler,of Bourbon Co., Ky.; fed and exhibited at the Kansas City andChicago Fat-Stock Shows of 1883, 1884, and 1885, by Messrs. Mor-row & Renick, Clintonville, Ky.; got by the Renick Rose of Sharonbull 10346 Poppys Airdrie, dam the Young Mary cow Miss Byronby Frank Hunt 5650; 2d dam Alice Byron by Princeton 2d 6072,etc. A prize-taker; one of the most noted steers of the Short-hornbreed ever exhibited at these shows, and, while not so successful awinner as the remarkable white Bow Park bullock Clarence Kirk-levington, in the opinion of nearly all good judges entitled to rank;as one of the best bullocks ever seen at these shows. His weightat 1,425 days (three years) was 2,210 lbs. Sketched from life byBurk, 1885. (240)

PURE-BRED YEARLING SHORT-HORN BULLOCK CLEVELAND. Color, roan; bred and shown at the American Fat-Stock Showof 1885 by Messrs. Elbert & Fall, Albia, la.; got by the roan Wood-burn-bred Mazurka bull Duke of Hazelhurst 45854, dam the redJosephine cow Red Daisy (A. H. B., Vol. XX). Cleveland wasone of the sensational steers at the Show of 1885, gaining first prizein his class and winning the Short-horn championship of the hallagainst all ages. He was shown at 497 days old at a weight of1,290 lbs., an average gain per day from birth of 2.59 lbs. Sketchfrom life by Palmer. (242)
