This lady was the only child of the fifthEarl of Lennox, uncle to King James I. and great-grandson ofKing Henry VII. Her double relationship to royalty was ob-noxious to the jealousy of Queen Elizabeth and the timidity ofKing James I. who equally dreaded her having legitimate issue,and prevented her from marrying in a suitable manner; thus a No tavern of this sign is known to exist; but there is one of the sign ofthe Three Merry Boys, probably a corruption of the above name. •> From the Londina Illustrata, by permission of the late Mr. R. They both made theirescape, on the same day, 3d of June, 1611. He got to Flan-ders, but she was taken in Calais roads, and committed a closeprisoner to the Tower, out of which she never came alive. Thesense of her undeserved oppressions operated so severely onher high spirit, that she became a lunatic, and died in that stateSeptember 27, 1615. a On Sir Thomas Parrys death, this house descended to JohnAbrahall, Esq. of Ingston, Hereford, who in 1629 surrenderedit to King Charles.
