It is 1,326 miles from Chicago,868 miles from Kansas City and 1,083 miles from Denver.With immediate surroundings it has a population of 2,000. Itspublic schools are up to date and housed in modern buildings.There are 500 chidren of school age in the city, and nearly allare enrolled in the public schools. There are churches ofmany denominations, a line opera house, commodious businessblocks, a $35,000 courthouse, electric hght, telephone, waterand sewerage systems, graded and well kept streets andthree weekly newspapers, the Carlsbad Argus, the Currentand the Pecos Valley Stockman.
