Father Knickerbocker, and presumably all his daugh-ters, are at present greatly exercised over a certain younglady of that city and the discovery of a state law,enacted last year, which gives the defendant in a suit fordamages arising from personal injuries, the right todemand a phjsical examination of the plaintiff. In October of 1892, a collision occurred on the Ninthavenue elevated, in which the petition cites, a Miss Lyonwas thrown violentl) against a seat, upon the floor, and asa result was rendered unconscious for several hours, andreceived thirty thousand dollars worth of injuries to herspine, as estimated by her lawyers, and in the attemptedcollection of which sum all this rumpus has occurred.
