Lothian Buses: Volvo B7RLE / Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 1

English: Wrightbus Eclipse Urban (1) bodied Volvo B7RLE buses operated by Lothian Buses. The company took delivery of 66 between June 2004 and September 2008, in five batches, with some seeing use in the guided bus fleet. With the exception of six Optare Solos delivered in June 2008 (between batches 4 and 5), these were the only single-decker type bought in this period. They were the first new type of single-decker for the company since 1999, replacing the previous standard the Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton Pointer combination. They were also the first Wrightbus vehicles bought by Lothian (followed 15 months later by B7TL / Eclipse Gemini 1 double-deckers). From 2009 the company switched to updated B7RLE / Urban 2 design (beginning at 58-reg), although in 2011 Lothian also purchased two 55-reg Urban 1's second hand (no.s 193/4). All the new buses were delivered in Harlequin livery with route branding (minor and major schemes). All have since been repainted into Classic livery (branded and unbranded). The first two batches have received exhaust emission reduction upgrades, with associated branding.

Second hand vehicles edit

In 2011, Lothian also bought two 55-registered (Nov 2005 built) examples second hand from Whitelaw's Coaches of Stonehouse, Lanarkshire. They were numbered 193 (reg. SF55 HHC) and 194 (reg. SF55 HHC). They're fitted with their original organge LED displays rather than Lothian's standard blinds. They entered service in Classic livery with LB.com fleetnames, later receiving TfE fleetnames.
