Hi! I noticed you are fluent in both Russian, Ukrainian, and English and was hoping you would join the Soviet Aviation Task Force and translate some of our missing articles into English and Ukrainian from Russian. Many of the articles on the list are MAJOR plane crashes that were not covered by Soviet media at the time they happened and were not made public until decades later, when such events were no longer considered interesting enough for regular news. And the since Soviet Airforces were subject to massive purges in the Stalin era, many notable aviators who broke multiple world records or earned their nation’s highest honor were repressed , their accomplishments forgotten, and their discoveries swept under the rug. Because archival sources are nearly always in Russian and these topics are history, not news, coverage of even the deadliest, most notable, and revolutionary events of aviation only have articles on the Russian Wiki. Our goal is to change that, using the wikidata pages for those Russian articles as a “base” to start off from and expand our own wikis, providing coverage on some of the most forgotten topics that managed to hide in the Russosphere for many years. While we have made a lot of progress on the English Wiki there is still a long way to go and many other wikis still lack coverage on the extent of Soviet air disasters.

If you are wondering where to start since the vastness of the backlog is a bit overwhelming, I recommend starting off with one of these:

en:1980 Plesetsk launch pad disaster (Just recently put into English and no article in Ukrainian; dozens died and Soviet commision initially blamed crew, but later admitted issues with filters were the cause)
en:1969 Yukhnov mid-air collision (120 fatalities, only in Russian and English)
en:1976 Anapa mid-air collision (70 fatalities, only in German and English. A little bit of post-USSR newscoverage due to recovery of parts of one of the planes involved)
en:Aeroflot Flight 2415, en:Aeroflot Flight 964, en:Aeroflot Flight 1912, and en: Aeroflot Flight 3932 – The four main crashes due to a major defect in the Tu-104, where the plane would seemingly randomly lose control and important instruments would go blank, dooming the plane. Instead of grounding the Tu-104 the Soviets kept the issue quiet and continued allowing them to fly, resulting in these tragedies.

1 вересня вже традиційно стартувала українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! До 30 вересня включно Ви можете подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Цього року є трохи змін у правилах конкурсу:

фотографії пам'яток, для яких на момент початку конкурсу (відповідно до відомої Організаційному комітету інформації) не було жодної ілюстрації на Вікісховищі або у Вікіпедії, отримують коефіцієнт рівний 7 (для кожної пам'ятки);
фотографії автоматично вантажаться у категорію, яка бере учать у номінації за найбільшу кількість сфотографованих об'єктів, для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації за найкраще фото потрібно вибрати необхідні налаштування у завантажувачі.

Також у конкурсі є спецномінація банерів для статей у Вікімандрах, детальніше за посиланням.

Здравствуйте, Antanana. Я очень хорошо владею русским и хотел бы вам помочь, чтобы фото которое вы предложили на форуме признали фото хорошего качества. Искажение перспективы не очень уж и хорошо исправлено, если Вы или автор хочет я могу предложить исправленную версию напишите мне на адрес armenak81 собачка гмейл точка ком. Я могу загрузить исправленное фото вместо автора, но может автор не хочет.
