Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Siebrand 03:50, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Please link images edit
Hello!
Thank you for providing images to the Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to the Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on the Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

MBTA photos edit
Hello! I've been appreciating your high-quality photos of the MBTA system. I would like to make some small requests:
- When adding categories, you only need to add the most specific categories, like Category:MBTA in 2021 and Category:Kendall/MIT station, as you've been doing. Please don't add more general categories like Category:Rail transport - categories work on a hierarchical system, so the more specific categories are already subcategories of the general ones.
- If you're able to, please add categories for the rolling stock. On Category:MBTA Red Line rolling stock and the equivalent categories for the other lines, I've made visual guides for identifying rolling stock.
- For filenames and descriptions, it's best to use sentence case, where only the first word and proper nouns (like station names) are capitalized. This makes them easier to read than when every word is capitalized. For example, for File:MBTA Broadway Station, Inbound Train, August 2021.jpg, I would have used the filename File:Inbound train arriving at Broadway station, August 2021.jpg, and for the description I would use An inbound train arriving at Broadway station in August 2021.
If any of these are confusing, or you need help identifying anything, just respond here. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:01, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Will keep in mind guidelines for future uploads. Probably will hit up other T stations over the course of the next few months.
Thanks,
