Re:Translations
editHey :) I went through the templates used on user talk pages (which are rather important as they are often the only means we have of communicating with people regarding problems), and came up with the following:
- Into French
- Into Spanish
- {{Dont recreate}}
- {{Be civil}}
- {{Be civil final}}
- {{Project scope}}
- {{Provide better quality}}
- {{Imposter}}
- {{Sockpuppet}}
That should keep you busy for a while! There's no rush on them, but if you want work it's certainly there... always new templates needing translation, and old ones too. Good luck and many thanks in advance ^_^ -- Editor at Large • talk 01:37, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

editKourou river birds
editYes, upload any pics you like! If I can identify them (no guarantees, though!!) I will do so. - MPF 18:00, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! of Image:Kourou yellow black bird.jpg, I managed to narrow it down to one of four closely related species, Myiozetetes cayanensis, Myiozetetes similis, Pitangus sulphuratus and Philohydor lictor. A pic showing the bird's back would help, if you have one, and also your best estimate of its size. - MPF 20:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'd like to see the other pics, please; it may very well be Pitangus sulphuratus, but on the current pic I still can't eliminate the other three listed above; they all occur in French Guiana, and look very similar to each other on front views, according to my ref (HBW). Trying to judge the bill size makes me think Philohydor lictor (Lesser Kiskadee pic) is a marginally better option than Pitangus sulphuratus (Greater Kiskadee). A pic showing the top of the head and back would be a great help. - MPF 23:41, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll take a closer look at them tomorrow (it's getting late here!) - MPF 00:12, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Blini_homemade.jpg
edit
Thanks for uploading Image:Blini_homemade.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Algérie. Categorisation
editBonjour. Amicalement. --Alexandrin 12:03, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

New Zealand images
editHi. I answered on my page. Cheers. Ingolfson 04:40, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Good, but...
editI don't know what happened there. I could have sworn the image was not licensed as "non-commercial" when I uploaded it. I think the flickr uploader might have changed the license there or something. Jacoplane 13:56, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
You said it was copyrighted. How are you so sure about that? Best regards --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 21:48, 18 December 2007 (UTC) (an admin attempting to close the nomination)
Gracias --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 21:50, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
"Don't assume everyone is monolingual, as this can be seen as condescending and frankly insulting" ¿Dónde he asumido eso? Un saludo --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 23:14, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Gracias y un saludo --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 06:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

editHi, about Image:Tucows.jpg, did you see my comments at Image talk:Tucows.jpg? --Iamunknown 06:45, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I have nominated the image for deletion - see Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Tucows.jpg. I also submitted another image, Image:Tucows 2 12-21-07.jpg, for consideration. I am much less certain about it, and noted as much on the deletion request page. --Iamunknown 07:00, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind comments on the Tucows Deletion Page. Do you support keeping the photos based on the information I have presented or do I need to take this one level further in detail. I can contact the creator of the first Tucows photo and also contact Tucows corporate office to do further research if you think it is necessary.
edithi arria,
the spider from joseph's island is a en:Nephila clavipes. although i have seen many of them in costa rica, those looked quite different. but it seems that they are variable, as matjaz identified it, and there really is no other species in the region that could be it. cheers :) --Sarefo 01:22, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
