RE: Por favor, enlaza las imágenes

Hecho. Siento las molestias pero mi nivel de inglés es deplorable, por lo que no sabía buscar categorías. Espero haber acertado en la clasificación. Pedro --P.Lameiro (talk) 18:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you looks good / Gracias se ve bien (google translator) :-) --MGA73 (talk) 18:50, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Welcome

hello..I want to know how to insert this? Template:User Sport Thanks Medhat Montasser (talk) 02:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

This is a talk page of a bot. But if you mean something like these en:Wikipedia:Userboxes/Sports you have to copy the right one to Commons or find a user on Commons, that uses the box you would like to have on your user talk and copy the link. If it does not work you are welcome to ask again when you have found the one you would like to have. --MGA73 (talk) 18:56, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Category added

I apologize for overlooking the Categories designation for the image file I uploaded. Categories have now been added to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:James_P_OShaughnessy.jpg Thank you for catching it. Emerson2009 (talk) 4 March 2010 Emerson2009 (talk) 13:40, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Reply to you...

...message. Perhaps we could work together and categorize :) Tell you what... I will answer the emails for commons, upload the images, you we can cat them together? Best, NonvocalScream (talk) 18:28, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

This page belongs to a bot. Feel free to upload the images and just do your best to categorize the images. Other users will probably help you if needed :-) --MGA73 (talk) 16:15, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

E-Mail

Weisst.Danke-- Salvi 5 ( talk </ span>) 17:24, 3. März 2010 (UTC)[Kategorie: Lens Flares]]

Exclude me?

Hi, I would like to request a feature that stops this bot from littering my user talk page. I am aware of all the information the bot tells me. I don't like receiving redundant messages in cases where I have not yet gotten to adding categories, or where I am not likely to do so. -Pete F (talk) 00:49, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Placing {{bots|deny=CategorizationBot}} on your talk page might do it. -- User:Docu at 00:56, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, didn't know that trick! -Pete F (talk)

Exclusion list (Category:People by name)

Hi Multichill, would you add

to the exclusion list? (sample edit: File:Afshona-Avicenna.JPG) -- User:Docu at 12:27, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I understand no images should end up in there, but I try to use the blacklist only for complete and utter nonesense categories. Maybe I should add a filter to move images up in the tree for meta categories? So in this case the image would be moved from Category:People by name to Category:People. Big chance Category:People gets filtered of because the image is already in one of it's subcategories.
Thinking of it. If the image still is in Category:People after overcategorization filtering, it would be nice if the bot checked if the category has an "unidentified <subject>" subcategory and move it there (Category:People by name -> Category:People -> Category:Unidentified people). What do you think? Multichill (talk) 14:04, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
The images that currently end up in Category:People by name are likely to be of people that just don't have their own category yet, but probably already have their own WP article. For now, Rocket and I just removed them from Category:People by name. Given the size of the category, they are almost impossible to find w/o CatScan.
As I'm not convinced of the usefulness of Category:Unidentified people, I would opt for Category:People, but pick whatever solution suits you best other than Pbn. -- User:Docu at 16:43, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, side categories (such as Meta categories) reduce the effect of bot overcategorisation filtering/reduction, so internally the bot should consider the parent category (easier said than done). People, living people and people by name categories are often used as pass-partout categories to get rid of categorisation problems: items are formally categorised but in practise, they are not really. Category:Unidentified people might be used to collect such cases. --Foroa (talk) 17:37, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
Another solution could be to let the bot create a new subcategory and put the image in there directly. -- User:Docu at 03:18, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Exclusion list (Category:Media with locations)

Category:Media with locations shouldn't be added either, e.g. [1]. It should be template based only. -- User:Docu at 08:53, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Exclusion list (Category:Views)

There is a request at User talk:Multichill/Category blacklist since January. This category doesn't help much. -- User:Docu at 08:53, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Preference

Is CategorizationBot prefering "Seiten in der Kategorie XY" to "Media in der Kategorie XY"? -- Haubi (talk) 14:00, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

File:Cargo ship Nordfjell.JPG

For some reason, the bot didn't get above. I don't quite know why though. -- User:Docu at 04:21, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

{{Cc-zero}} is not on the ignore list yet. Multichill (talk) 09:56, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Ok. I thought it checked for non-hidden categories only. -- User:Docu at 10:02, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Exclusion list (Category:Stub icons)

Please add this too: e.g. File:A6e89630c3.jpg. -- User:Docu at 03:29, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

For now, I will remove the larger images from that category (see below). -- User:Docu at 11:39, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Exclusion list (Category:Ships by number of masts)

File:Vendredi13.jpg

Please add the above category otherwise it gets filled with images of 2- and 3-masted ships. If you want, you could create (and maintain) categories for these ships, but otherwise it's preferable to exclude that category. -- User:Docu at 08:34, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

If Category:Ships by number of masts it should be nominated for deletion. If it is relevant why not let bot put images in it? --MGA73 (talk) 10:08, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
The category is needed for ships with 4+ masts. The bot would better place images for 2- and 3-masted ships into Category:Ships instead (or not place them if they are already in another subcategory of that category). -- User:Docu at 10:25, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Is there a reason why this one shouldn't be added? -- User:Docu at 20:38, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Populate category

As a test, I added the template to Category:John Andretti. Thus this run with the standard batch or does it have to be started separately? -- User:Docu at 11:57, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to work as expected. Thanks anyways. -- User:Docu at 04:04, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
