Danke für den Hinweis! Gemerkt hatte ich es zwar auch, da allerdings die Originalansicht und andere Thumbnails in Artikeln funktionierten, hielt ich es für ein temporäres Cachingproblem. Komisch: Bei mir sieht es jetzt absolut korrekt aus... wenn man es über die Commons anschaut, auf der de-Bilderseite ist in der Tat auch nach dem löschen des Caches wieder der dumme Streifen. Ich würde vorschlagen wir warten mal noch ein paar Stunden, vielleicht behebt sich das Problem von selbst (*hoff*), sonst versuch ich mal noch eine kleinere Version zu machen. Wappen

Hallo Dbenzhuser, da du ja einige Wappen grafisch aufbereitest, hätte ich eine Bitte an dich. Ich habe eine Anzahl von Stadt-/Gemeindewappen von Sachsen eingestellt. Einige müssten davon grafisch aufgepeppt werden (z.B. Wappen laussnitz.png (Farbe) od. Wappen Jonsdorf.PNG (Größe)), wozu ich mich mangels guten Grafikprogramm und Erfahrung teilwesie nicht in der Lage sehe. Könntest du dir, dass mal zu Gemüte führen. Schaue ich mir gerne an, vorausgesetzt du erwartest nicht zuviel :) Laussnitz dürfte kein Problem sein, Jonsdorf müsste man aber neu zeichnen oder sich irgendwo was größeres besorgen, das ist selbst für die mickrige Größe noch eine schlechte Qualität.

Wo ich dich gerade hier habe: Du hast bei Image:Wappen lichtenberg sachsen.png und Wappen Großroehrsdorf.png die Bilder beim rüberladen ziemlich eingeschrumpft. Finde es schade so schöne Vorlagen in die Tonne zu kippen. Wenn du noch mehr so große Wappen findest kümmere ich mich gerne darum sie nach png zu konvertieren, ohne dabei die Dateigröße explodieren zu lassen, meld dich einfach hier oder besser noch auf meiner de-Diskussionsseite. Wappen Freiburg

Solli Benzhuser, das Freiburger Wappen zeigt sich im IE mit mausgrauem Hintergrund - allerdings nur im Artikel, nicht in der commons-cat und nicht in den Babel-Einbindungen - aber genau auf das Wappen im Stadtartikel kommt es ja an (alle anderen svg-Wappen sind übrigens bei mir transparent bzw. ohne Hintergrund zu sehen). Wäre noch die Frage zu klären, ob das Problem auch bei anderen usern auftritt. gruss Geograv 23:09, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Danke für den Hinweis. Das war ein alter Bug im SVG-Renderer in der MediaWiki-Software. Der ist zwar schon länger behoben, aber bei Bildern, die vorher schon als PNG zwischengespeichert wurden muss der Cache noch von Hand gelöscht werden. Bei mir wird es im IE jetzt korrekt angezeigt, wenn du die Seite neu lädst oder deinen Browser-Cache leerst müsste es funktionieren. Dank und Gruß, --dbenzhuser 09:20, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
