Frank.Feather~commonswiki
Image deletion warning | Image:QichunCountyMap.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |
Qichun images
editHi Frank! Regarding your contributions:
- Image:QichunCountyMap.jpg - I deleted this one as redundant to Image:QichunCountyMap2.jpg
It would be great if you could add Chinese captions to these images, as they all concern Chinese subjects:
- Image:QichunCountyMap2.jpg
- Image:QichunHotel.jpg
- Image:CityHall.JPG
- Image:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg
- Image:QichunSWI-New2005.JPG
- Image:QichunCountyMap.JPG
- Image:QichunMBikeTaxi.JPG
- Image:Qichun-LiShizhenBust.jpg
Please add more description to these images (where was the image taken? what is in the image? why is it important or interesting?):
Also
- Image:QichunDowntown.jpg this image is marked with the license GFL, which I don't think is correct. Images don't have to carry copyright notices to be under copyright, so this image is probably under copyright and thus not suitable for the Commons. It can be uploaded to w: under fair use provisions - please see that page for more information about that.
- Image:QichunSWI-New2005.JPG Please add categories to this image. If your friend specifically stated that he releases the image into the public domain, it should be tagged as {{pd-author|friend's name here}}. Otherwise it should be {{Copyrightedfreeuse}}.
- Image:QichunSnake.jpg I am not convinced that this image is public domain. Just because it didn't carry copyright information doesn't mean it's not copyrighted. 1963 is too recent for it to be PD because of age. See Template:PD-China. If this image is not free, it can be uploaded to w: under free use provisions, as above.
Thanks for your contributions. The descriptions and captions are not urgent but it would be nice! The copyright questions (the last 3) are more important, they should be accurate. If you have any questions you can leave a comment on my Talk page. --pfctdayelise (translate?) 01:20, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

File tagging File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg
editThis media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File source is not properly indicated: File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg
editThis media was probably deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
[[:File:LiShizhen-Herbalist.jpg]] ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Frank.Feather. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Frank.Feather~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

File:QichunCountyMap.JPG
editThanks for your work in 2006! Would you be willing to do an updated map? The old map and a new map could be displayed on the Qichun County page showing the evolution of the administrative divisions over time. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 14:20, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
