Code issues in User:Moogsi/common.jsEdit

Hi Moogsi, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:Moogsi/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 2 new jshint issues -- the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!
  1. ISSUE: line 2 character 91: Script URL. - Evidence: mw.util.addPortletLink('p-tb', 'javascript:importScript("MediaWiki:VisualFileChange.js");', 'Perform batch task', 't-AjaxQuickDeleteOnDemand');
  2. ISSUE: line 24 character 14: ['HotCatListSize'] is better written in dot notation. - Evidence: JSconfig.keys['HotCatListSize'] = 15;
  3. ISSUE: line 25 character 14: ['HotCatDelNeedsDiff'] is better written in dot notation. - Evidence: JSconfig.keys['HotCatDelNeedsDiff'] = false
  4. ISSUE: line 25 character 44: Missing semicolon. - Evidence: JSconfig.keys['HotCatDelNeedsDiff'] = false

DeletionismEdit

I don't appreciate your apparent deletionism. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:09, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

I don't want to break your heart, but not all of my actions are taken with consideration of your opinion. Can you be more specific? I assume it's related to this somehow? Then we might be able to do something. Otherwise you're posting the basic equivalent of "I don't like you", which is neither here nor there –moogsi (talk) 07:20, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
That's exactly it. I understand your logic and I think your belief about contract work not being public domain is foolish. There's no point in arguing it because we're not going to agree. The closing admin apparently agrees with you. However, I think you ought to feel some friction for these ill-thought deletion nominations of yours. I'm not going to name-call or harass you; I'm just letting you know I don't appreciate your apparent deletionism. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:08, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
You are right there's no point in arguing about it. Not now, at least. If you have any argument to make (I don't know what it is but I'm sure you have one beyond "I just don't like it"), then make it while the deletion nomination is still active, and maybe the admin, that is the person actually making the decision and deleting the file might have a good reason to listen to you. If you think someone is being foolish, say whyso when it matters, and if it's that obvious they're being foolish, then you prevent foolishness and everyone wins.
Incidentally, have you tried talking to the admin after the fact? Maybe slap the name of a dogma as a heading on their talk page just so everyone knows what you think of them? I shouldn't bother backing it up with anything, I'm sure everyone will understand how important your unsolicited, baseless opinion is –moogsi (talk) 08:52, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
