I don't know which photos were brought to the Commons, since I've uploaded perhaps fifty of his photos. If you will looking for images from him, than type in his name in the searchbox and when you get the information "There is no page for Dennis Mojado" then click on the checkbox "Images" and search again, then you will find all photos from him. Hej Nordelch. Ich haette in der norwegischen wikipedia Verwendung fuer Dein Bild Image:WO 2087 Marbled Murrelet.jpg, allerdings mit weniger Wasser & mehr Vogel. Hast Du was dagegen, wenn ich das Bild beschneide, oder soll ich dem Ergebnis einen neuen Namen geben, so dass beide parallel existieren? Hanno 15:15, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Das Bild ist nicht von mir, sondern vom U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Ein neuer Name ist wohl besser, da das Bild auf anderssprachigen Wikipedias in der jetzigen Größe verwendet wird. Gruss! Nordelch 18:02, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Swedish Municipalities maps

Good work on the maps of the municipalities of Sweden. However you missed one, Stockholm in Stockholm County. Thought it would be better if you did it to keep the similarities to the other Stockholm County municipalities. Cheers /Lokal Profil 21:11, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Copyright of Prague wax figures

Hello Nordelch, I see you uploaded a number of photos of figures of the Prague Wax Museum. You name the GNU FDL for these figures. It strikes me that a wax museum should use this licence – typically such works of modern art are copyrighted by their authors. Photographs of such items are thus covered by the copyright of the artist. Could you provide information on the copyright status of the wax figures you uploaded photos of? Feldhase

I am writing regarding the picture you have placed in Commons - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Feldhase.jpg . We, with our friends from the Otryt Association (connected with the Bieszczady mountains), have decided to trace and mark the first in the Ukrainian Bieszczady didactic route (historical-natural scientific). We have been preparing it with the Ukrainians from Old Sambor, in which neighborhood the route is going to be placed. The route consists of ten boards, some of which are devoted to fauna and flora of the Bieszczady. We would like to use the graphics mentioned above on one of the boards. Taking into consideration the limited space on the board (on which there are going to be other graphics and descriptions of the fauna/flora) we are not able to place the GNU license text there. Would the author therefore agree to place this graphic on the board giving his authorship (his full name, nickname or any other form)? I know that the photo was taken by de:User:Fmickan but he doesn't exist in Wikipedia now. Has you got his e-mail? (Especially, that I need the photo in higher resolution, 900x900 or 1200x1200).

Moving to commons

When you move an image to commons, such as Treasure Island Map, please provide a source on who uploaded it and its originall source (me). Otherwise when it gets deleted from en.wikipedia (which it will eventually since it is now on Commons) there will be no record of who uploaded it, or its original source. Hello Nordelch. I have just modified an image of yours (Chrysoara jelly.jpg - from US NOAA) and uploaded the modification into the Commons as Radiate Oral-aboral Axes.JPG. I'm hoping to use this and other images to modify English Wikipedia entries relating to animal anatomy. Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.

The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.

Hallo, habe beim Betrachten gesehen, dass als Benutzer bei einem meiner Bilder du eingetragen bist. Wie kommt das? Das Bild hatte ich selber fotografiert und bei de.wikipedia hochgeladen unter der Lizenz: gnu-fdl. Da laut Gnu-FDL ja der Urheber genannt werden muss, werden die Leute sicher deinen Namen nehmen und nicht meinen, was eigendlich richtig wäre. Habe leider nicht die Möglichkeit was zu ändern. Bin unter meinem Benutzeracc http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Viki erreichbar.

I september genomför vi fototävlingen Wiki Loves Monuments igen.

I år har vi till den svenska deltävlingen lagt till ytterligare en kategori med objekt du kan fotografera, nämligen arbetslivsmuseum. Vi har även passat på att förtydliga instruktionerna för hur man deltar. För mer information se tävlingens hemsida.

@JuTa: It's too simple. Mere borders are not copyrightable but may be protected as a database. We could go into detail about the threshold of originality for maps. "Skyddet gäller inte kartinformationen utan den "samlade kartbilden", dvs. den individuella utformning som kartframställaren har gjort."[2] The information in the map is not protected. Category:Maps needing South Sudan political boundaries

Can you add South Sudan, remove the pre-1990 borders between Yemen, and remove the former neutral zone between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the maps you have uploaded:

I am adding South Sudan (as well as Montenegro and other possible missing updates) in the PNG maps in Category:Maps needing South Sudan political boundaries and then remove this category after updating them. There were close to 1100 maps since I started to update these files on 1 March 2018, now it is reduced to less than 690 maps, but there is a long way to go.

Unfortunately I don't know how to edit SVG maps and complicated PNG myself, that is why I asked you.

Can you add South Sudan in File:Arvicola amphibius range map.png, File:Myopus schisticolor range map.png, File:Potamochoerus porcus range map.png and File:Sicista betulina range map.png which you uploaded? Den 1 september inleds 2021 års svenska deltävling av Wiki Loves Monuments, där det skulle vara väldigt roligt om du ville vara med och delta! Målet med Wiki Loves Monuments är att fotografera svenska kulturarvsmonument. De kategorier som ingår är byggnadsminnen, fornminnen, K-märkta fartyg och arbetslivsmuseer – och du är välkommen att bidra med bilder hela september.

Du får det här meddelandet eftersom du tidigare har bidragit med bilder till de svenska deltävlingarna av Wiki Loves Earth eller Wiki Loves Monuments. Jag hoppas att du vill vara med i år också! Som vanligt ingår naturreservat och nationalparker, biosfärområden och naturminnen i tävlingen! Tävlingen började 1 maj, och pågår under hela maj månad. Om du har varit ute i världen och rest kan du även se om resorna sammanfaller med övriga internationella deltävlingar, och i så fall vara med och tävla även där. Även om fortsatt försiktighet är att rekommendera går det bra att ge sig ut på fotosafari och fotografera naturen i ditt närområde – eller varför inte damma av fotoalbumen och tävla med bilder du har tagit tidigare?

Du får det här meddelandet eftersom du tidigare har bidragit med bilder till de svenska deltävlingarna av Wiki Loves Earth eller Wiki Loves Monuments. Jag hoppas att du vill vara med i år också! Nytt för i år är att vi utöver bästa foto även belönar fotograferande av tidigare ofotograferade objekt samt bästa bildserie om minst tio fotografier av samma objekt. Tävlingen börjar 1 maj, och pågår under hela maj månad. Expeditioner, fotosafari eller en helt vanlig promenad? Via en smidig karta som visar ditt närområde hittar du bra ställen att besöka – eller varför inte damma av fotoalbumen och tävla med bilder du har tagit tidigare?
