At every creek therewas a battle, and at every encounter there was blood-shed. In one of these fights, Y\^hen the leaves wereall falling on the brown earth, George Todd v/askilled. In the night tinie his followers came to paythe last tribute of respect to his remains. Therewere not many who gathered there in the gloom ofthe midniaht to aze for the last time on the face ofthe courageous Guerrilla, but among them v/ere Jesseand Frank James, and they pointed their pistolstow the cloud-veiled, teary sky, and swore toavcL^e his death.
