Microphone polar patterns edit

It would be great if the microphone polar patterns had a dim gray microphone shown on them, too, like a shotgun mic for the shotgun diagram, like a watermark almost, to show the reader how the field is oriented relative to the physical microphone. — Omegatron 01:35, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I disagree. not every microphone has a capsule pointing forewards- i.e. a bidirectional mic points sideways, and many studio cardioid condensers do. The patterns must be described in text form anyway. but feel free to edit the patterns (but please dont overwrite- save as different files). inkscape is a free .SVG editor available for all os. you will find the patterns as .SVG files here --Galak76 10:10, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why would that make you disagree? That's exactly what I'm saying. Show a "dim" outline of a bidirectional mic in the position that it would actually be in relative to the polar pattern. — Omegatron 22:52, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cellar spider edit

Hi,

I can't tell how large your spider is, and I can't see some of the details that would aid identification. I suspect you could find it by going to

http://www.xs4all.nl/~ednieuw/Spiders/spidhome.htm

At first I didn't realize that the spider is standing on a web. Maybe it is in the Family Agelenidae. See http://www.andalucia.net/natura/aracnidos/data/media/24/04092901-035-agelenidae.jpg

The Agelenidae that I have found around here tend to lurk under some kind of shelter and then rush out to grab prey that fall onto their sheet/funnel webs. The move with incredible rapidity, which makes it hard to catch them unless you get behind them in their shelter and drive them out into the open and into a bottle.

They have very long spinerettes and are usually spiny like yours is.

If you manage to identify it, drop back to the Commons gallery and add the name below the image. Thanks. 152.17.58.34 01:01, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please help replace this outdated license edit

Hello!

Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license {{PD}}. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.

The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.

Thank you for your help. If you need help feel free to ask at Commons talk:Licensing or contact User:Zscout370.

The images we would like you to check are:

Tuchel.jpg edit

Hallo Galak,
