Re: Inkscape help
Hi John,
I'm glad that you're deriving some inspiration from my work here so far. I haven't done a lot recently since I've been busy with school, but I'd be happy to give you a pointer on the subject of Inkscape. What I've done to align the text along an uneven vector line is this:
- Trace the bottom line of the object with a separate vector line (I usually do this in red so the lines don't get confused).
- Select both that line and the text at the same time.
- Go to the TEXT menu and select PUT ON PATH. The text will be joined to the path.
- You can space the text so it's in the middle of the path.
- When you finish, always remember to select all text, and go to PATH, then OBJECT TO PATH. This will convert all the text in your SVG file to paths, rather than relying on fonts, so that all computers will be able to properly display the text as you see it.
If you have any questions, you can let me know on my talk page. I'm no expert, though, so there might even be a better way to do what I've described. — AJDS talk 21:23, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
- What I mean by tracing the bottom line of the object is that I, first, make a new line. Then I take that new line and line up the end points with the bottom points of the object (in this case, the wavy bottom of a scroll), and then shape my new line so it matches the curvatures of the bottom of the object. That way, when I join the text to the new line I created, it will be on the same curves as the bottom of the object. — AJDS talk 09:19, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, there's probably some way to align the text to the center of the line, but I don't know it. I just use the spacebar to get it to the middle of the line approximately and it usually turns out just fine. 217.156.208.210 05:59, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Coat of arms - Escudo de armas
Hola J-Ronn!
Saludos
Online translationI am glad that you are interested in ecclesiastical heraldry. I put the text manually and then I keep it as an object, the text always looks different in each browser and the sometimes looks messy, so keep it as an object and not as text. I got a video of how I do the shields, you can see how I put the text. Best regards

Hola J-Ronn!
Help me, I need to get the coat of arms of Cardinal Orlando Quevedo. On the Internet I found the version of the shield as archbishop, but not if it continued or changed completely. I made the coat, based on the version as archbishop. I noticed that you have created new templates for church shields, three templates already exist, why would a fourth template?. What's wrong with the one I use? --SajoR (talk) 22:38, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hola!. Saludos
Online translation: Hello. I saw that you are Filipino, but we asked for help. The Archdiocese of Cotabato has no website. Through the contact facabook, yet say nothing about the shield. And on the templates, of course there is nothing wrong with making a new design, but I thought you would follow the same style as multiple users are using, the idea is that all shields follow the same standards for a single encyclopedic image, a single corporate image. In this album, we are bringing together the ecclesiastical coats of arms. Best regards
- Hola John!.

Does the video was helpful?, The motto I put it manually, always leave two spaces between words. Select a country, such Australia or Ireland and do the shield of its bishops. These two lists can serve you as a guide [3], [4]. Do you know something new about the coat of Cardinal Orlando Quevedo?. --SajoR (talk) 22:05, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

New design of File:CoA Georg Gänswein.svg
Hi - thanks for your new version. For that please read Commons:Overwriting existing files. As the former first Coa is a historical fact it has to stay. Create a new file with a slightly different name for the new design. -- Maxxl² - talk 09:41, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, dear friend, but to replace an implemented Image just by another is impossible. You may offer the new Coa but you cant change the images as you dont know in what context with what kind of caption/text the former image is used. Pls revert you replacement asap. -- Maxxl² - talk 11:09, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
(moved from User talk:Maxxl2)
- Um sorry but I kinda don't understand what you said
- "Sorry, dear friend, but to replace an implemented Image just by another is impossible. You may offer the new Coa but you cant change the images as you dont know in what context with waht kind of cation/text the former image is used. Pls revert you replacement asap."
- Can you please simplify the English? I only have an advance understanding of English --John Ronn talk 11:12, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- First of all:please keep the talk on the page where it started and jump on other talk pages with the same subject.
- It is not wanted to replace used images with another image of different content like your new Coa of Georg Gänswein in the eleven wikipedias. You may offer to add or personally add your new image in a wiki with a new caption (text beneath the image). No way just to delete the until today used image by another one. Undo your replacement immediately. -- Maxxl² - talk 11:22, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

- I'm sorry but I still don't understand the reply. Are you using an online translator? I just replaced the former design of the coat of arms to the current one used by the archbishop. And what do you mean by delete? I didn't delete anything or nominate the file for deletion... --John Ronn talk 11:29, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Please continue the talk here, don't go to my talk page again.
- You disturbed the German wikipedia article about Bishop Georg Gänswein because the image is part of the paragraph "Blazon of bishop GG" which describes the older blazon, not yours. And that is the same in all the other wikis. This way text and image don't match anymore. Undo your image replacements now.
- So it was the text? Sorry I didn't know it was the blazon of the arms. It was in the language of the wiki. Don't worry change them soon. --John Ronn talk 11:42, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- The top line of this page says: English only please. If you don't speak english, please use an online translator like Google Translater. What about a Filipino translator?
- Every image implemented in a wikipedia article of whatever language has a context. With coats of arms in almost every case it is a paragraph describing the blasonnement of the shield. If you replace the image and don't change the text and the caption in every different language version the is an act of vandalism. Undo your replacement to avoid admin action on you because of vandalism. -- Maxxl² - talk 11:54, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
You did not quote any source for the new design? Where did you get the new design from? -- Maxxl² - talk 11:59, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- The design was from http://exarandorum.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/coat-of-arms-of-archbishop-ganswein/ I undid the changes on all the Wiki pages I edited --John Ronn talk 12:04, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Its a hoax. Why didnt you read that page more carefully? This is just a suggestion by a heraldist and not an official notice of Bishop Georg Gänswein. His coat of arms hasnt changed yet. Wait and call your image a "future" or "fictional" version. -- Maxxl² - talk 12:10, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- I wasn't really sure if it was a hoax or it was real but the sentence "Now that Pope Francis has been elected and Archbishop Gänswein remains as Prefect of the Pontifical Household (at least for now) his arms are changed to be impaled with those of Pope Francis (below)." made me think it's real and because he remains as Prefect of the Pontifical Household until now. --John Ronn talk 12:15, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Wait for an announcement by the office of the Holy See. Any other release is premature. -- Maxxl² - talk 12:21, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Revision of File:CoA Georg Gänswein.svg
Would you please refrain from any revision of long time versions as coats of arms like this. If you intend to make any change I strongly recommend to discuss the changes on the talk page before hand. If you won't be willing to do so I am sure that one or the other genuine heraldic author will claim vandalism and ask for block or ban of your account here at the admistrator's noticeboard. -- Maxxl² - talk 13:59, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Wrong colors? Its not wrong... The tincture is still correct. Or, argent, gules and azure. The template of SajoR recommends the use of the standard colors (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:SajoR#Convenciones). No matter the tone of the tincture, it's still heraldicaly correct. --John Ronn talk 14:17, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Please forget what SajoR recommends and respect the artwork other artists have done before. The colour standards here are the FIAV colours as in Template:FIAV1. Don't forget to discuss the changes you intend to put on third-party images. Otherwise you are in trouble. -- Maxxl² - talk 14:25, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
