Hi, you have apparently Cat-a-lot: Moving from Category:Bromma socken to Category:Bromma District, However en:Bromma socken, Sollentuna Hundred is not the  same as Bromma District, because the latter is primarily made up of the parish with the same name, and the parish of Västerled. What are your reasons? Runestones are categorized (e.g. by Wessen) over socknar (parishes), also by municipalities, but not by districts. Macuser (talk) 14:46, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

  • @Macuser: I was only emptying a redirected category due to movement made by User Joostik. Joostik, can you tell us more about this movement? Wieralee (talk) 16:18, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
    • Joostik moved page Category:Fornlämningar i Bromma to Category:Archaeological monuments in Bromma. I see no Bromma socken in his deed, just translation in English. Macuser (talk) 16:46, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Macuser: Sorry, I've thought that you mean the last edition. But the other edition has the same scheme, User:Sendelbach has moved it and left the files in redirected category. @Sendelbach:, can you tell us more about this edition? Wieralee (talk) 18:42, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
    • Do you support Broxit (not to be mixed with Brexit)? Here is no place for political advertisement... Macuser (talk) 08:21, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Macuser: I trust, that you know this problem better than me :) Fix it, if it's necesary. Thanks in advance :) Wieralee (talk) 10:24, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Congratulations! It has bot status now. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:15, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Congratulations. --Schlurcher (talk) 16:51, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Please use the botflag on your edits. You're spamming watchlists now. Besides that {{PD-old-100-expired}} is a redirect so that's a cosmetic change. Generally cosmetic changes shouldn't be done as stand alone edits, but done when something else is changed. Multichill (talk) 11:46, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
@Multichill: I don't understand what you mean, I'm sorry. I've thought that bot's accounts use bot flag automatically, isn't it? Wieralee (talk) 21:25, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
Please have a look at en:Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser#Rules_of_use. Multichill (talk) 21:43, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
@Multichill: I've got a bot flag for the User:WieraleeAWB account. But you write to me "use a bot flag". I don't understand what you mean, I'm sorry. I've thought that bot's accounts use bot flag automatically, isn't it? Wieralee (talk) 21:46, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
No, the client has to mark it as a bot edit, see mw:API:Edit. I see that your latest edits are marked as bot edits.
Leaves us with the problem "Do not make insignificant or inconsequential edits. An edit that has no noticeable effect on the rendered page is generally considered an insignificant edit. If in doubt, or if other editors object to edits on the basis of this rule, seek consensus at an appropriate venue before making further similar edits." Did you do that? Doing near to a million dummy edits seems to be a bit pointless. Please put your bot on pause and get consensus for these edits before you continue. Multichill (talk) 21:54, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
@Multichill: I've re-logged only. It was probably a Commons bug. OK, I'll start a new topic at Village pump. Thank you for claryfying. Wieralee (talk) 22:03, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

category:Files of the Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters with bad file namesEdit

Hi. Why do you say that are to be renamed? They are correct and descriptive--Pierpao.lo (listening) 16:46, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

P.S. If you think that this qualification was wrong, just change it, please. Wieralee (talk) 19:28, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
I'll just add a good explanation in the category -- pierpao

A Ty uznałaś, że powinno być tak: „rename request declined: does not comply with renaming guidelines #2:Files should NOT be renamed only because the filename is not English”. Na jakiej podstawie? Serdecznie pozdrawiam. --Gower (talk) 21:03, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Wieralee (talk) 21:42, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

License/Licence plateEdit

Please check your change of the word. ;-) It's license plate, with "s". --XRay talk 17:53, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Fixed, back to Category:License plates of Germany. Please check other categories like Category:License plates before renaming. --XRay talk 18:25, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
  • @XRay: the main movement was done by User:Alistair1978 (look here). I would be grateful, if you can explain her this error, to avoid it in the future. Thanks in advance :-) Wieralee (talk) 15:35, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

The correct spelling is 'licence', according to [[1]]. Are you saying that there is an alternative MoS which overrides that here? Alistair1978 (talk) 19:22, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

  • @XRay: I'm not an expert at English. Can you answer it? Wieralee (talk) 18:04, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
  • @Alistair1978: Please have a look to Category:License plates or any other category with "license", not "licence". I'm not good in english, but there may be a difference of british (with "c") and american english (with "s"). There are a lot of examples with "s" instead of "c". Your reference is the english Wikipedia. The rules of english Wikipedia are for english Wikipedia, not Wikimedia Commons. You can't respect all the rules of all the Wikipedias in Commons and it's not useful to change the name of one category to "licence" and all others are written as "license". --XRay talk 18:25, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Cathedral planEdit

Back in 2015 you renamed a file which I created. It was called "Cathedral schematic section.PNG" and was moved to "Basilica (architecture) schematic section.png". I created the the file and I want to point out that it is specifically the plan on a typical cathedral or great abbey church, and as such is ypically Gothic in style. The description "Basilica (architecture)" does apply, as well. But while it is a typical cathedral, the term "basilica (architecture)" is very much a secondary term. It is not a "typical" basilica church (architecturally speaking). There are a number of other diagrams in the section which fit the definition of "basilica" (i.e. they have a nave, aisles and clerestorey) but do not have the other trappings that define a "typical" cathedral. The diagram was not created to show a basilica in its simply defined form. The diagram was reated to show other features such as vault, buttresses etc as well as nave aisles and clerestorey. Could you please rename it, as a cathedral, leaving out the word "basilica" but adding the word "Gothic" so that there is no doubt. I am at present trying to direct a journalist as to how to describe a Gothic Cathedral (Notre Dame) and explain the difference between the vault and the roof. This is of vital importance, and your renaming of this diagram has made it much harder to find. Amandajm (talk) 09:29, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

  • @Amandajm: The renaming template is: {{rename|new name|number of renaming Criterion|verbal explanation|user=}}

for example: {{rename|Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png|1|uploader's request|user=TTaylor}}
or: {{rename|Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png|2|detailed, more suitable name|user=Amandajm}}
Number of Criterion you can find on the Commons:File_renaming site. When you are an uploader, the best is Criterion #1, uploaders have special favours ;-) Put the file renaming template in this file, please. I'm not sure exactly what name you prefere best. Is it "Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png" or another?
The next thing is: you can write a detailed description of this file by yourself. A browser is always searching both: names and descriptions.
Good luck! Wieralee (talk) 18:29, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

StopEdit

Please stop, your recent filenames aren't covered by policy. Natuur12 (talk) 16:51, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Never mind, it seems that most off the damage is already done :(. Please see here for some background. Natuur12 (talk) 16:52, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
  • @Natuur12: Thanks for clarifying. I knew Criterion #4 is not really suitable in this case, but I thought that changing the city name is a good reason; the more so the city name change in filenames lasted already several hours. I'm really sorry, I would be more careful in the future. Wieralee (talk) 17:04, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
