Hello there!
Just before you place a nasty template here, I just wanted to tell you that if you want to say something about possible copyright violation(s) or possible deletion(s), please consider to deliver the message at **the page dedicated for my uploads that were eventually deleted**, instead of my talk page.
I don't like my talk page filled up with *only* deletion notifications.

Notification about possible deletionEdit

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

File:Medina Eid attack.jpgEdit

File:Medina Eid attack.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk.

The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion.

Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your DRsEdit

Hi, Please do not create deletion requests when the elements with a copyright are simple or de minimis. Thanks, Yann (talk) 13:06, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

@Yann: I have no idea for which nomination you are talking about. But if it was about the election posters which are the subject, as the file that you deleted: subject is copyrighted and can not be de minimis. Else, I need to see.
acagastya 13:12, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I am talking about Commons:Deletion requests/File:Mairie Pont Ain 2.jpg, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Monument aux morts Aranc 01.jpg, and others of the same. Even this should be OK. Regards, Yann (talk) 13:23, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
@Yann: for the second nomination that you have linked, though not the main subject, it may not be main subject, but it is copyrighted covering lot of portion in the photo. I am not sure how it works here, but do we include open sky in these cases? And I think it is not de minimis, you don't think it is — since it is subjective, on-or-of wiki discussion is needed.
acagastya 13:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
At the very least, you need to mention what is the issue, which you didn't here. Regards, Yann (talk) 13:35, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
@Yann: I just said that: though not the main subject, it (the copyrighted architecture) covers lot of area in the photo.
acagastya 13:38, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
No. You need to mention if the issue is the posters, the monument, or the building. I suggest that you read a bit more about Commons policies, and current requests and the answers, before creating new DRs. Regards, Yann (talk) 14:09, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Iraqi Kurdistan independence referendum, 2017Edit

Hi , I took this picture (ballot papper) really , I wait your answer Kurdistantolive (talk)
@Kurdistantolive: then why is the EXIF data missing? And why are you using a screenshot? I am pretty sure that is not how OTRS works.
acagastya 22:22, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
I was in wekipedia 11 years , I hope you understand this , I know wekipedia

but really this picture from me , just trust me --Kurdistantolive (talk) 22:28, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons are two different things. For instance, Wikipedia permits fair use media, Wikimedia does not. As far as trusting is concerned, without OTRS, I do not thing this can be allowed.
acagastya 22:35, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

I know different but I mean 11 years here wikimedia and wikipedia in arabic ,swedish and english really

Just you trust me --Kurdistantolive (talk) 22:40, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
You know, licensing and/or OTRS does not work like that.
acagastya 22:42, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
DO you have viber i want speak with you and show you some things --Kurdistantolive (talk) 22:44, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
then it should not be difficult for OTRS check. But in any case, the photo must abide the FoP rules. COM:FOP#Iraq.
acagastya 04:48, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

You must believe me , I am serious really, my photo Kurdistantolive (talk) 12:45, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Okay. It should be no problem to prove it then, no?

Commons:Deletion requests/File:2017 Präsentation Plakatsujets "Holen Sie sich, was Ihnen zusteht" (35556819683).jpgEdit

Hi, Please do not reopen this. It was discussed long enough, and the issue is settled. Thanks, Yann (talk) 09:19, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

Edit

I see you changed the licensing from "Artistic License" to public domain. How does the Duck drawing not help the logo meet threshold of originality? One can look at File:DuckDuckGo logo no text.svg and see that it's already original enough to obtain copyright protection. Am I missing something or what? George Ho (talk) 01:01, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

@George Ho: what you may be missing is that it is too simple to be copyrighted. It is below ToO.
acagastya 12:25, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the copyright holder emailed them, claiming copyright to the logo. George Ho (talk) 16:56, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
@George Ho: when something is too simple to be copyrightable, what the author says is of no point. Consider the logo of Internazionale, for example. The website and its content is under a non commercial CC licence, but since the logo is simple geometric shapes and text, the entire thing is PD-geometry plus PD-text.
acagastya 12:37, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
I still disagree; the shapes aren't that simple enough. How does the duck's beak be a simple shape or something? Maybe one of us can ask at COM:VPCOPY about the logo. BTW, do you mean "Inter Milan" when you said "Internazionale"? George Ho (talk) 13:01, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
@George Ho: Inter Milan's real name is "Football Club Internazionale Milano". The beak is freaking simple. Also, I had already discussed that with User:Yann. Feel free to confirm that.
acagastya 18:08, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi, George Ho is right, this is not PD-shape. Regards, Yann (talk) 19:39, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Just for an update, the logo is deleted per ticket:201812311000463. George Ho (talk) 21:33, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Love help neededEdit

Hello Acagastya, You endorsed the Wiki Loves Love photo contest on Meta. This photo contest starts on 1 February. To be able to make the photo contest more accessible and available to more people in the world, it needs translations of the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. Please help us! Go to Commons:Wiki Loves Love 2019/Translations to see how needs to be translated. (In some languages there are maybe already some translations available.) Thanks in advance!! For the international Wiki Loves Love organising team - Romaine (talk) 17:42, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Congratulations, dear license reviewerEdit

If you use the helper scripts, you will find the links next to the search box (vector) or as single tabs (monobook). They are named license+ and license-.

Hi Acagastya, thanks for your request for license reviewer status. The request has been closed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. You can now start reviewing files – please see Commons:License review and Commons:Flickr files if you haven't done so already. We also have a guide how to detect copyright violations. Potential backlogs include Flickr review and files from other sources. You can use one of the following scripts by adding one of the lines to your common.js:

importScript('User:ZooFari/licensereviewer.js'); // stable script for reviewing images from any kind of source OR
importScript('User:Majora/LicenseReview.js'); // contains also user notification when review fails, auto blacklist-check and auto-thank you message for Flickr-reviews.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.freenode.net. You can also add {{User license reviewer}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your contributions on Commons! 1989 (talk) 22:43, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

@1989: thank you for letting me know. And thank you for the suggestion of helper scripts. I shall add it after I have completely woken up.
