You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? China Beijing adm location map.svg

Hello! Can you give me an example where this map shows a wrong location? This file is used in many projects and I have to correct it everywhere. Best regards, NNW 09:44, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

@NordNordWest: There appears to be a significant westward bias in the location. Beijing Capital International Airport: the article's coordinates point to an exclave of Chaoyang District surrounded by Shunyi District whereas the pushpin is firmly in the latter; Forbidden City (2nd pushpin): the complex is located in Dongcheng District but the pushpin is somewhere in Haidian District.

I've self-reverted on Commons and the two Modules as testing on my sandbox didn't show any ostensible changes. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 15:40, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

Hmm, strange, see Google Maps Map, same coordinates on Google Maps Satellite or OSM. Same problems with Bing Maps vs. Satellite. NNW 16:20, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

@NordNordWest: This is a documented problem with non-mainland Chinese mapmakers attempting to map in mainland China. I've sourced my most recent edits to the stations of the Shanghai Metro, Beijing Subway, and Guangzhou Metro to Gaode (but some command of Chinese is required). Ah, okay. I used OSM data for the location map but I got the coordinates when I put that map over Google's satellite images. I have to correct it using the Google Maps map. Then (I hope) the problem will be solved. NNW 17:25, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
