Thanks for uploading File:Architecture of Talhenbont Hall.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

I tagged these three files for speedy deletion as missing evidence of permission. A book first published in the UK 1960 is assumed to be protected by copyright, and it is unlikely to be available as cc-zero. If you can establish that the book was published under Crown Copyright then these files may be acceptable, because this appears to last for 50 years, see COM:CROWN. If this book was published as Crown Copyright then please challenge the speedy deletions using the links on the file pages, and change the license tags to {{PD-UKGov}}. @Verbcatcher: I emailed RCAHMW and received a responce yesterday explaining the image is copyright free because the image in question was published over 50 years ago. This was listed on the website: national archives copright PDF. I have added a link to the copyright agreement, and then also a {{PD-UKgov tag explaining the images are public domain now. Please tell me if this is sufficient information provided to keep the images online... ?Cltjames (talk) 13:32, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have challenged my speedy tags, converting them to normal deletion requests (the normal procedure), and I have added my comments indicating that the files should be kept. If the closing admin agrees with me then the files will be kept (this may take several weeks). I think you should remove {{Cc-zero}} from the files, because the RCAHMW has not waived its rights but has stated that copyright has expired. Verbcatcher (talk) 15:46, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Verbcatcher: Ok, thanks for clarifying the situation regarding correct listing of the summary and license. Please see the Talhenbont exterior request reply, the Talhenbont floor plan request reply and the interior request reply for all relevant information requested. I've uploaded 2 more screenshots showing the copyright page and the front cover to confirm the book and it's status for use in the public domain. Cltjames (talk) 16:35, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok @Verbcatcher: the files are being kept. Thanks for your contribution to avoid any mistakes and potentially lose the images unnecessarily later on. Cltjames (talk) 14:57, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

File:Talhenbont Hall illustration.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
