Tip: Categorizing images edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Samara edit
Thanks for finding the photos of Samara on Flickr! I photographed the house last November, but I didn't have time to do anything except for a quick photograph from the street, so my picture is quite inferior to the ones you've found. Nyttend (talk) 19:44, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Pavillion Hotel edit
Thanks for catching my right-left error in the description of the photo of the Pavillion Hotel in Taylor, Nebraska. I copied the caption from a different photo of the building, and didn't catch the change. (My inability to match the terms "left" and "right" to the appropriate directions doesn't help, either—my friends are used to asking me "Which left?" when I give them directions.)
Hello Fox69!
- I found in the history version of the above-linked page that you are the original author of the category. I have worked in PFP since 1981, and I am a member of assorted special interest groups in the realm that argue over these things. I have to admit that I have not heard of this concept that a single family dwelling, be it Part 3 or Part 9 of the NBCC, could be fireproofed for 5 grand. US funds, I presume? Could you possibly indicate the building code requirement for this in the current IBC or the NBCC and the hourly fire-resistance ratings that you envision with this? Surely you are basing this on ASTM E119 and ASTM E814 testing and can point to certification listings within the UL Online Certifications Directory?
