Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy.

Getting help

More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.

Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.
  • All your uploads are stored in your personal Gallery
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
  • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
  • To link to an image page, write this: [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], it makes this: Image:Foo.jpg
  • If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper
Made a mistake?
  • Did you want to rename or move a file? Simply upload the file again and mark the old one like this: {{bad name|Correct name}}

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Siebrand 10:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

--- I´m sorry, but I don´t understand what the problem is, please explain. The photografer has given his permission to use the picture in "any way I like". My question to him pointed out that a GNU-free license would give anyone opportunity to use the picture under the rules for the license, whith link to the rules. I also pointed out that the picture I would upload was a scanned picture from a book, and that I would use the format I did, Thats why I can´t upload a ´better picture, I don´t have the permission to do that.--Godfellow 10:58, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Permissions

edit

Many of Larka images you uploaded seems to have permission only for se.wikipeadia.org use. That is not enought for images in commons. All images should have relased under free licence. Also image Image:Transsymbol.gif you put under gfdl license, but source doesn't have that license. --Tomia 17:12, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, that was not what I asked the photografer and Mora Kommun, which is the copyrightholders to the pictures. I did write that the pictures was intended for an article on Sv wikipedia,(thats whay the www-adress appears) but I also specified that they, if they were were published, would be possible to use for anyone, under tha rules of GNU-free-license. I also did give them a link to the license and the rules. Maybe is the problem that my letter and their answers is on swedish, or that the whole letter isn´t published, because the length of it?--Godfellow 11:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
About the transgender-symbol
The source says: "WHO OWNS IT?
The symbol of a circle joining the elements of male, female, and the two combined, came from many sources, and is owned by none. Please use it.
The representation that you see as a lavender triangle and blue symbol with rounded line ends, executed with symmetry throughout, belongs to Nangeroni Design, i.e. me. I give the symbol as a service to our community, for everyone's use. I would ask that we make it stand for honor & integrity, compassion for all, and good humor.

Sorry, but I no longer provide the pins." (my marking)

I would say that makes it okey to put it (The lavender triangle with rounded line ends and a blue trans-sign) under a GNU-license, in the way I did.--213.114.210.22 12:40, 13 October 2007 (UTC)(godfellow, out-logged)Reply
Well, when you put it under GFDL, you claim indirectly that you own it and have the right to publish it under a free license. It would probably be better to use some PD template and write exactly what the site says about the license. /Grillo 22:06, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

There must be a missunderstanding of some sort, there was a text that informed about why the symbol was alright to publich under the GNU-licence. By the way, "Rosen202.gif" is not a photo, but a picture, sure we even talk about the same file?--217.21.232.237 13:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Plrk (talk) 16:31, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
