Thanks for uploading File:SC430-B10-direct drive.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

I forwarded your request for copyright authorisation to my friend Carl Hyllander in Sweden, but he is is Turkey for the moment.
Please allow for *more* than a week for the answer (direct or via myself) and don't take the picture down that fast.
The aircraft in the picture has meanwhile been damaged beyond repair in a tree "landing".
I regularly donate money to Wikipedia.
Regards

You really should have obtained permission before uploading it. We can't host content indefinitely if there is no evidence of the copyright holder agreeing to the specified terms of release (in this case, waiving all copyright and releasing the photo into the public domain). However, deleted content can be restored if you are able to obtain the permission at a later date. LX (talk, contribs) 13:59, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Alex,

I *did* have permission for uploading that picture, but just per email, without further formalities (The photographer and myself are friends and fellow pilots of the same type of aircraft). Now I asked him for a more formal authorisation, as you requested. Regards

That should officialize the authorisation that I already had.

OK, that's a completely different type of release than what you originally stated on the file description page. The Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication which you originally said the author had agreed to means they waive all copyright. With the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International, the author still retains their copyright and reserves some rights, like the right to be attributed, while releasing enough rights to allow anyone to use, modify and redistribute the photo for any purpose, including commercial purposes. Those differences make a big difference for anyone who wants to use the photo, so that's why we insist on a formal release, to ensure that everyone can have a common understanding of what's actually been agreed. So thanks for sorting that out. I've adjusted the file description page accordingly. LX (talk, contribs) 16:31, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
