Cedar Lewisohn

Cedar Lewisohn (Born 1977) is a London based artist, writer and curator. He studied sculpture at Camberwell College of Art and had a post academic research residency at the Jan Van Eyck Accademie in Maastricht. Between 2007 and 2011 he worked for Tate, where he organised exhibitions and events for both Tate Modern and Tate Britain. He was the curator of the influential exhibition Street Art at Tate Modern in 2008. For the exhibition he also wrote the book, Street Art: The Graffiti Revolution, published in 2008 by Tate Publishing. He was co-curator along with Martin Mayrone and Tim Batcher of the exhibition Rude Britannia at Tate Britain. In 2011 he was curator of the sculpture exhibition for the Bussan Biennale he also organised a series of projects for The Tate Triennial the same year. He currently curator of a series of public art works for hangerbiccoca in Milan. As artist he has solo presentations at the bonnafonanmuseum in Maastricht, Joey Ramone in Rotterdam, C+G gallery London and at Art Space Sydney as part of VOLUME | Another Art Book Fair. He has work in The Saatchi Collection and The Tate’s special archive collection, who own one of his large scale books. He has published numerous articles for magazines and newspapers including The Guardian, The New European, Flash Art International, Spike and writes regularly on art and food for The Saatchi Gallery Art and Music Magazine.


Personal Life Cedar was born in London, and grew up in the suburb of Bromley.
