Hello Minor~commonswiki!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!
Thank you. How do you turn this on (talk) 16:25, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Norrala edit
Thank you for uploading pictures related to Norrala. I particularly enjoy the drawing of Kungsgården from 1809. I hope you don't mind that I've helped you in categorizing those pictures. If media is placed in a subcategory, they should not be placed in the parent category as well. You can reply to me in swedish if you like. --Zejo (talk) 09:43, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Categorization edit
Minor, please don't put images in redundant categories. I've had to undo some of your work recently because of this. Please read the guidelines in Commons:Categories. --Zejo (talk) 23:09, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
My apologies, both for the late reply and the poor categorization, Zejo. I did try to figure out how an ideal categorization would be, but the information was too fragmented and the category structures to use too complex for me to grasp, so eventually I gave up. I've done my best now, however, by only using a strictly geographical category structure for the new photos I added, this time, and I'll add other categories later once I've finished the Wikipedia article I'm working on right now. All photos are taken in the parish of Norrala, so a correct geographical structure would start (from the top) with Sweden > Counties of Sweden > Gävleborg county > Hälsingland province > Söderhamn > Norrala. I don't know how to get that structure in the categorization structure, though. --Minor (talk) 17:45, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed edit
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Minor. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Minor~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
