Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

I have tagged File:Jon Lloyd by David Burgess (2).jpg as copyright infringement

User:Mach61 The photo you deleted is fine to use. I have the rights to use it. I'm not sure why you think I can't use it.

I have the full rights to use that photo, given me by the subject of the photo. He in turn has full rights from the photographer, as per the terms of paying for the photo in the first place. How do I go about re-installing the photo and what should I put, in the way of text, to indicate copyright?

You must release the photo under a CC-BY-SA license, making it free to use for anyone. I would suggest you use contact the official copyright holder and ask them to use the Commons:Wikimedia VRT release generator. Cheers, Mach61 (talk) 16:22, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I'll do that. So I'm guessing that means asking the subject of the photo, the saxophonist Jon Lloyd, who owns the copyright, to do that. Won't he need to create a Wiki account to do it?

@Piano40 If the copyright holder has licensed the file freely (see COM:LICENSE for more), you may reupload the file, at that title or any other. Mach61 (talk) 03:40, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
