Maps edit

Thanks for the recent uploads of maps, in particular the one for Welsh speakers (2011), although the others are very interesting too.--Rhyswynne (talk) 21:53, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Just to add to Rhyswynne's comment, I'd also like to express my gratitude. Well done and keep up the great work! MacTire02 (talk) 10:47, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Any plans on doing a map of Irish speakers based on figures of daily/weekly speakers outside the education system in the 2011 census. this would give a better image of the actual language community as it would exclude those who just speak irish in education system (or don't speak it at all but know it)

2011 Catholicism in Ireland.png edit

Thanks for this very insightfull map. Would be great to have the 2001 version as well. Would be gratefull if you made this also and added this to the Roman Catholicism in Ireland page. Grsd (talk) 17:28, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Community councils in Wales edit

Great stuff! I see you created the File:Born In England 2011 Census Wales.png. If they're based on Census, am I not right in saying that they are therefore based on Community councils? If so, a blank, high res map would be good, as location for all communities. That could create c. 900 maps for identification of each council area. As you see Category:Communities in Wales, we don't have one! Llywelyn2000 (talk) 22:00, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Map of religion in Ireland edit

That's a great map that you made of religion in Ireland. I wonder what did you use as the source data? It seems there are some pockets in west Wicklow and possible east Galway that don't quite a high proportion of non Catholics. Here's a suggestion: make a cartogram where the area on the screen is proportional to the population and then use a colour to show the attribute, such as proportion belonging to a particular religion. And then perhaps make it interactive, so that if someone were to hover over a particular spot, then they'd see the name of the electoral division (or indeed county) But, as I mentioned above I'm interested to know what's your source data, perhaps the census? NI Maps edit

I was curious what base units you used for your old Belfast city demograpic maps? I've looked at the small output area (SOA) maps, and postal codes and can't figure out for the life of me what the units are or where you got the shapefiles from. Thanks. NI identity map (latest census data) edit

Can you please update the Northern Ireland identity map with 2021 census data? The graphics are invaluable and frequently cited. Or if you could give some tips regarding how to populate a NI shapefile with the data? Thanks 80.233.63.22 17:51, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
